Melissa's Produce Hatch Chile Roastings and Recipe
Summertime is when the weather naturally sizzles up, and so should our food.
Hatch Chile Roastings are a huge event that have been happening in August and September all across the United States for the past 5 years. It seems to be a new American tradition that we, the people, just go spicy about!
Thank you, Melissa's!
Until this year, the Hatch Chile was just a name I'd heard. I'm happy to say that my tongue now knows
the flavor. Melissa's Hatch Chile Ground Chile is such a nice bite for any food; street corn, BBQ meats, veggies, beans, and for me, fruit!
The same goes for the NOT Ketchup Tangerine Hatch Chile Sauce, which is made using Melissa's Hatch Chiles. Isn't that cool? Or rather, HOT HOT HOT?! *smile*
The sauce. The real deal. NOThing artificial.
The color is just as beautiful as the flavor. And it's NOT Ketchup.
What you need: Jicama
Dice the jicama in same-size pieces.

What you need: Dried Apricots
Chop and add the dried apricots.
What you need: Mango
Cube the fresh mango.
I tried the NOT Ketchup by itself to see where I wanted to go with the flavor profile.
I know, this looks amazing as-is. But it will be so much better when we kick it up a notch, I promise!
Choice of flavor add-ins: Agave Syrup, Ginger Syrup, or Honey
I made two sauces. One with Ginger Syrup, and the other with Honey.
They were both delicious, but I think I favor the addition of honey.
Such a cute little salad. If you chopped it smaller this would be an amazing Chutney...or tea party doll food. Kids these days are so fancy.
But only after adding Melissa's Hatch Chile products. Yummm.
Kids in the Kitchen: Let your kids squeeze the lime.
Hi, gorgeous bite of fresh produce and amazing flavor thanks to Melissa's Hatch Chiles!
This salad, or chutney, however you choose to chop it, is amazing as a side dish for any brunch, lunch, dinner, or even breakfast. Picnic-goers will crave it, begging you for the recipe. They won't even believe how easy and quick it is to make!

Glamour shot.
Dip. Grill. Glaze. Marinade. Dressing. Finger sauce.
Wait...what's finger sauce? That's my way of admitting that I dipped
and licked my finger in it several times. Without even any fruit or veg. Guilty. And flavorful!
Ground Chile is what bland food needs.
I'm throwing this in my
purse to carry around with me everywhere. I'm going to have to put it
in a sealed bag though, because everything that goes in there falls
open. every. time.
I'm going to try it on ice cream. What do you think?
