Rubio's hosts its Annual Coast Fest Beach CleanUp this Saturday, July 18! |
This weekend Rubio's is hosting its Annual Coast Fest. This is one of the best volunteer opportunities, chance to get out and experience our "perfect weather", and party with amazing
freebies and eats after the hour of cleanup.
The actual cleanup goes from 10am-11am, 1 hour, and then the after party goes from 10:30-2pm.
My family and I participated in this event a few years ago and had a wonderful time. I took my daughter who was 4 at the time.
We had signed up in time to become part of the street team, hanging posters up around town to help spread the word and share awareness.
After the work, you'll be hungry, but Rubio's has the answer. They will be serving samples of their new Santa Fe Crusted Tilapia Taco, which hasn't even debuted in restaurants yet.
Can we say "VIP"?
With musical guests, The Mowgli's, The BooHooCrew, and Hullabaloo, this beach fest will be one of the hottest summer concerts that you won't want to miss, and the only way in is to haul away some garbage and debris. It's SO worth it!
Did you hear me when I said THE MOWGLI'S?!
Or, how about The BooHooCrew and Hullabaloo?! That means that this even is family-friendly, so you can bring along your kids and help keep our ocean clean while teaching your children the importance of ocean health and preserving aquatic species for future generations
Plus, you save on child care. Save the babysitter for date night. Take them to the beach!
There will be a Main Stage and a Kids' Stage.
Don't miss the live music, free food, beer garden, and free surf lessons!!
- FREE Food and Drinks
- Wyland Foundation Mobile Learning Center

- FREE Face Painting
- Clean Water Educational Activities

San Diego has an amazing organization, I Love A Clean San Diego, which strives to keep the ocean clean by continuously and persistently recruiting ocean warriors to participate in fun events like this one!
For information about the cleanup: Rubio's CoastFest 2015
I really hope to see you there this Saturday, in Oceanside, for Rubio's Coast Fest!
You never know. I may even be taking over Rubio's Twitter for the day!
Tips:
- Bring a plastic 5-gallon bucket to carry the trash. Plastic bags blow in the wind.
- Tighter fitting disposable plastic gloves, or rubber bands/hairbands so the gloves don't slip off your wrist. Perfect for smaller hands.
- Hat, sunglasses, SUNSCREEN, water.
- Bring your swimsuit/Change of clothes. The cleanup is at the beach, after all.
Courage & Kindness,
Becky
