Chula's Mission Mother's Day Weekend Lunch - Green Acre with Brian Malarkey |
#OnceUponAnApron
The day began with a drive to La Jolla, which is always beautiful in San Diego.

I took my mom and daughter with me.
The location of the restaurant at Campus Pointe is lush with greenery {hopefully drought-friendly, following the drip system rules and regulations, I'm sure.} and has an ocean breeze that will make you swoon.

We were greeted with purple balloons to indicate we were at the right place, and smiley attendants wearing purple shirts who would usher us around pointing out where to go next and what fun things were in store.
As I mentioned, we were able to create matching bracelets, decorate cookies, design an apron or put our artistic abilities to the test with a rainbow assortment of sharpie markers and white tiles for their future Wall of Love. Herb pots filled with bags of soil, seed packets and an included recipe awaited us to decorate, and when our appetite was bordering hangry, pizza, lemonade, and freshly baked chocolate chunk cookies lightly sprinkled with sea salt were set up buffet-style inside; a delightfully decorated open space which made us feel happy and gave us a sense of peace.

We were perusing the garden at the same time as the chef, himself, along with his family. It was truly amazing! |

I want to personally thank Scatena Daniels {and namely Suzy Garcia} for the invite.
My girls and I had the best time bonding and sharing in so many special memories.
Thank you to Chula's Mission for doing what you do to help current motherless girls, and for establishing a platform to help and aide future girls.
Thank you to Brian Malarkey and family {#teamMalarkey} for opening up your space to us.
Thank you to the panel of #mediamoms for sharing your insight about the challenges you each face as moms. You are not alone with your feelings about motherhood, and I realized that we are not alone. It's helpful to know we all have similar feelings and perspectives at times.
Thank you to everyone else {all sponsors and providers} who helped make this event possible.
My dear sweet daughter made me a Mother's Day card at Chula's Mission Lunch... I <3 you too, baby girl!! |
