Microwave Popcorn In A Bowl DIY REVEALED

Microwave Popcorn In A Bowl DIY REVEALED by BeckyCharms

Tonight on Facebook, one of my friends posted/reposted a recipe for homemade microwave popcorn using a large bowl {Pyrex or similar} and a plate that would fit over the top.

The claim is that you don't use any oil or butter, and that ALL the kernels will pop.  Let's see.

Recipe: 1/4 C popcorn kernels for 2:45min in the microwave.

I set the microwave to 2:45min and pressed "Start".  After a minute the kernels began to pop, but as the time neared the end common sense told me to add another minute.

After that first additional minute was almost over, there were still plenty of kernels remaining in the bowl so I added yet another minute.

These are my remaining kernels, but any longer in the microwave and we would've been eating burnt popcorn.  Bleh!

Alright, I'm known for taking things to another level.  My husband always says this.  For example, if he were to make a sandwich, he'd add bread, mayo, and meat.  But if I were to make a sandwich, I might add lettuce, tomato, fancy spread, thin crisp veggies.. or take a different route and toast the bread, add some arugula or baby spinach, layer some meat and cheese, slice diagonally, and pair with some nice pickles and olives, or maybe even use some hummus as spread, sprinkle feta.. you see where I'm going with this?

Well tonight was no different, and I wanted to take my plain air popped popcorn and give it a little cheesy delight.  At the movies, I balk at my family buying movie-theater popcorn.  But I'm willing to have a few bites if I can dip it in the nacho cheese!

So I opened the #10 can of Que Bueno.  I couldn't resist.  If I could've, I wouldn't have.  And I didn't.  And it was.. ¡pues, que bueno!

I challenge you to kick your next snack up a notch.  Don't settle for snooze.

 I guarantee you, it'll be that much more "que bueno"!

{We buy our Que Bueno Nacho Cheese at Costco, and it only comes in a 10lb can.  Normally we save it for big parties, but after a quick Google, I read that I could freeze the rest, so I divided some up and kept a little more in the fridge for the upcoming days.  Thank I put the rest in a big freezer bag for later's cheesy snack attack!}

{{This post was NOT sponsored by Que Bueno.  It was sponsored by OUR wallets!  We purchased the cheese, I opened it tonight, and then I felt obligated to share with you the ooey gooey details of our late night popcorn scenario.}}
