OK, scandal or no scandal, Paula Deen can throwdown like a pro, and watching her cook and bake is just plain mouth-watering. I mean, drool inducing, causing one to pick up their bottom lip with a crane.
After such success with the Lemony Lemonies Lemon Brownies, I realized that this new discovery was probably just the beginning to a whole new world of sweet treat desserts, and that I oughtta try out new flavors. From lemon I headed on over to
orange, another friendly and familiar flavor!
I started with Google, and BINGO! Orange Brownies. Shut up! No, really. Orange brownies! ERMAGERRRD. Yep.
With your mise en place in order, it's time to get started.
Fluffy orangey sugar whipped clouds of heaven.
Add the eggs and take your fluffy clouds into a creamy state of divinity.
I love seeing all of that orange zest in there, don't you? It means these are going to POP with flavor. Mmm..
The truth is I've been meaning to write this post for a long time and can't remember exactly the recipe I used. I just know that I started with Paula Deen's recipe for Orange Brownies, but probably used mine for Lemon Brownies and subbed orange for lemon!
And as far as calling them "brownies".. there are sticklers out there that say brownies MUST be chocolate.. I say, call it what you want, just try it first! These are yummy!
I think you could easily add some clove and make this a perfect Holiday treat, merrying the orange and clove flavors! That's a thought.. and of course, you could always add a little frosting or glaze on top! WHAT?! I know, stop it, right?! Delicious attack!
Happy Baking!
