San Diego? I'm a fan. Baking? I'm a fan. Blogging? You got it, a fan. So what's the perfect thing to do on a sunny San Diego mid morning-afternoon? Attend the San Diego Food Bloggers Bake Sale to benefit the Great American Bake Sale to benefit the No Kid Hungry Campaign. I'm IN!!
I am now super-involved with the campaign, and in order to get more involved with the community, I felt it was a must to get IN the community! So I ordered my family together, and we three ventured out of South Bay and drove Northwest{oh so far, lol} to Pacific Beach where the Bake Sale was being hosted.
I had received a cordial invitation from a friend of mine, who doubles as a Food Blogger {Joanna from Cairns Manor...shout out to Joanna!!}. I wanted to do everything within my power to support her, and support Share Our Strength. Did you see the S'mores Rice Krispy Treat?? It's a monster! I have to cut slices...
The place was booming! It was like a swarming bee hive, people gathered all around within tight quarters, yet everyone was polite and friendly! {such a change from South Bay}
I bought 4 goodies = $10.50
1. Nutella Brownie by Cucina Cara Mia
2. Chocolate Date-Nut Baklava by California Greek Girl
3. S'mores Rice Krispy Treat by Cairns Manor
4. Cinnamon Cardamom Sugar Cookies by Live Bake Love
Yumm, and I can't wait for next year! {or next Bake Sale...whichever comes first...please be the latter, please be the latter.}
Hearts to everyone...thank you San Diego Food Bloggers!! {I read you raised $2,900!!}
